Hue International Festival 2014

 

HUE FESTIVAL 2014: CULTURAL HERITAGE WITH INTEGRATION & DEVELOPMENT

 

Building on the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development”, the eighth edition of Hue Festival, which takes place from April 12th to April 20th, 2014, will assemble the ancient capital cities of Vietnam and other countries of the world. Hue Festival 2014 continues to be the special cultural exchange within the framework of the Forum for East Asia and Latin America Cooperation that was initiated by Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

     Hue Festival 2014 will showcase stunning art performances representing different sub-cultures and the ancient capital cities of Vietnam, especially Hue royal court music and Hue folk songs. In addition, exceptional traditional and contemporary art performances by leading art troupes from over 30 countries from five continents will be staged every night at venues inside the Citadel and An Dinh Palace of Hue, and outdoor stages in the vicinity of Hue. There are also special art performances for disabled people, patients and workers who cannot afford to attend the Festival.

 

     Hue Festival 2014 will re-enact unique royal celebrations together with a wide range of unprecedented and exciting community activities throughout the 9 days of the festival, with the participation of a large number of artists and the public. Fringe activities including exhibitions, traditional kite flying, calligraphy, installation art, street music and fine arts, workshops, international trade fair, sporting activities, gastronomy and sightseeing tours, etc. will fascinate tourists and the public throughout the day and night.
